Portland Wedding: Evelyn + Jerry

Whenever we meet up with wedding clients who are looking for a photographer, one of the things we always stress to them is to find a photographer they completely trust. We advise them to do their research ahead of time, then ultimately choose the photographer who they believe are able to create the photos AND tell the story that every couple has envisioned of their wedding day. This is the best way to ensure a stress-free day. So when we have a couple who completely entrusts us to document their wedding day, it makes us want to work that much harder to OH-WOW them! ahah

And this leads us to our story of Evelyn and Jerry. We’re so excited to share with you their Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden wedding story because their vision of their special day perfectly matched our style of wedding photography. We loved photographing the beauty and joyful spirit of their special day and hopefully they will love and gush over their images as much as we did! We enjoyed their photos for so many reasons, but one of them being… Evelyn is our niece, so we’re a little partial to this wedding story!

Ok, enough blabbering–onto the photos! And if you haven’t quite gotten the hint yet, this is going to be a mega-post! Our apologies in advance for killing your scroll-bars!

We were completely in love with Evelyn’s San Patrick Calais wedding dress. Every bride has a distinct style and we thought she chose the perfect dress for her outdoor garden wedding.

This dress with all of it’s soft tulle petals was absolutely charming and like nothing we had ever seen before!

I’ve found a new favorite boutonniere flower: ranunculus. Thank you Vang’s Garden Flowers for the beautiful floral arrangements!

The first look is always one of our favorite moments of the morning. It’s such a blessing being able to witness this special moment between Bride and Groom. Not gonna lie… got a little “dust in my eye” during this. Oh yes, this was just the start of more waterworks throughout the day. =)

The Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden is a hidden gem in Portland, OR.

My beautiful sister and her kids, all grown up now!

Her dress feathered petals around the grounds as we explored the garden. Evelyn reminded me of a swan princess.

DIY crafts always add such personality to the wedding details.

I always love the range of emotions shared during the ceremony. Look at the wide-eyed smile on our bride… then look at her reaction on seeing her Groom down the aisle.

Tissues all around, please.

The first quiet moments together as Husband & Wife. <3

Look closely and you’ll see raindrops! Yes, it started sprinkling right after the ceremony…the rain may have dampened a few dinner plates but it sure didn’t dampen the mood of our happy couple or their guests! =)

And the rain certainly didn’t affect any of the kids at play.

Their surprise dance, pleasantly caught everyone off-guard. “If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it”.

Everyone can appreciate bubbles, old and young. And it made for such a sweet send-off.

Evelyn & Jerry:
When you first announced your engagement, we were so happy for you both. On the morning of your wedding day, we were full of excitement for you. Now after going through all the memories captured of your wedding day… we couldn’t be more proud, happy and honored to have been a part of your amazing day. May the rest of your days together be exactly like the first… full of love, laughter and many tears of joy! – Love, Auntie Kay & Uncle Ty
